Prepare for war in Battle Lake
By Forrest Adams
A new action game in Battle Lake has players arming themselves with small weaponry and preparing for war. Located upstairs in the old Battle Lake Hatchery, War House is an airsoft gun arena where participants shoot each other with air guns. Players have a base on either side of the room, and spread across the court, between bases, there are places for the shooters to crouch and hide. Airsoft game play is similar to paintball but played indoors with no mess. The guns shoot pellets, and War House provides guns, ammo and safety glasses at a cost of $5 per hour. They have battery-powered machine guns, semi-automatic Carbon Dioxide-powered gas guns and air spring guns. The gas guns may only be used by students 12 years and older. manufacturer from Battle Lake, said he got the idea to open up an air gun arena when he and his teenage son became interested in the activity. Magnuson said his main clientele are kids between 10 and 16 years old. He opened War House in May for kids to use after school and keeps it open for summer recreation on Friday and Saturdays from 3 to 8 p.m. He said there have not been any major accidents involving the war games. "The most important thing is that they keep the safety glasses on," he said. Magnuson said different games at War House are full court war, half court war, Texas Draw and shoot the can. To expand business in the future, Magnuson said he hopes to open a new building off Highway 210.

News on Airsoft league Information
Many locations in the United States are now supporting leagues. While many areas are still just discovering Airsoft, places like California and Florida have full fledged leagues with their own set of rules and styles of play. Most of the rules reflect Paintball, but with a LOT less pain and more honor involved. The moment someone is discovered cheating, a game marshal will eliminate them from the game and possibly ban them from the leagues permanently. Many scenarios and strategies have been developed from actual military and police training exercises as well as many actual personnel from these organizations using Airsoft as training weapons. The realism of the design and function of these guns allow for them to train and perform actual "firefights" without any actual harm or injury. As I am located in the Dallas, Texas area, I am trying to stir up some interest and see if anyone is willing to start up a league. If you feel you have the battle space, and have plenty of people who would be willing to make the initial investment, please send me an email and we will try and help organize and support it along with the help of New World Warehouse.
Airsoft News from Justin
Me and my friends have started this to stretch nation-wide. We have set it up into military format to be as realistic as possible. We Started this in the beginning of 2004 and stretch from Pennsylvania-California. We Have a Price that it cost to get in but may be revoked. We started this so that everybody into Airsoft could have a little fun, and we could help them out in finding matches and partners. We wish to have teams in all 50 states.

Tips for Airsoft Gun Safety By Tom Aromi:
The first thing to do when you have a BB gun or air rifle, it's to check if it is loaded or not. This is the first tip for your safety. You will not have any way to check if it is loaded if the gun doesn't have a bolt. So the second tip to give you is not to point anybody. People sometimes thought that a BB gun cannot cause injuries, and that is not correct. It is a gun.
Do not carry a loaded or cocked BB gun into a public place, car, or your house. It is recommended to never carry a loaded gun with you while you are climbing trees, fences or jumping. Even with a BB gun - this could cause the gun to go off, causing injury to yourself or someone near you.
One of the targets that you must never shoot with a BB gun, are water or flat surfaces. Those kind of surfaces cause bullet rebounds, that is why the BB bullets are really different, they are lighter. When you are going to shoot be sure that there is something behind the target that can stop the bullet.
If you are target practicing with air rifles, air pistols or air guns - you must always be alert as to what is in the area of the target. You will want to be sure that there is no possibility of a person or animal walking in front of the target and that there is nothing beyond the target that can be broken or injured if hit.
It is suggested that you use a shooting range when target practicing, especially during the learning phase of gun safety. Also, it is a good habit to wear shooting glasses during target practice.
To use a gun, you must respect the other's property and of course to act on a responsible way. You cannot walk through a property with a gun.
Be sure to always act responsibly and to respect the property of others. Never aim a gun at a person or someone else's property. This is true for any gun, including an Airsoft gun.
Your children will have access to guns, so you must teach them the damage that they will cause if they use guns as toys. A gun is not a toy, it must be respected, and they should understand that they may cause injuries. Children must respect guns, if they do that, they will continue using them in a safe way during their life.
